Venafi, the inventor of systems management for encryption software, has hired world-renowned "mathemagician" Arthur Benjamin, called "America's Best Math Whiz" by Reader's Digest, to entertain show-goers while explaining the Venafi methodology in its booth at RSA Conference 2008, April 7-11 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Venafi (booth #2345) has issued a pre-show challenge to attendees, narrated by Benjamin. Venafi is also offering free "exhibits-only" passes for the conference.
"Security is all about encryption and encryption is all about mathematics, so it just made sense to bring a guy who counts 'racing calculators' among his hobbies to help share our unique story with RSA attendees," said Jeff Allen, vice president of marketing, Venafi. "Just as Art employs complex mathematical systems to perform feats of mental math, Venafi automates the complex processes our customers perform to implement and maintain encryption."
As part of his presentation, Benjamin-a professor of mathematics and a magician-will demonstrate and explain his secrets for performing rapid mental calculations faster than a calculator, including squaring 5-digit numbers, and calculating the day of the week of anyone's birthday. He has presented his high-energy talk more than 1000 times to audiences throughout the world and has appeared on many television and radio programs, including The Today Show, CNN, Amazing Discoveries! and National Public Radio. He has been profiled in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Scientific American, Discover Magazine, Omni Magazine, Esquire Magazine, People Magazine, and Reader's Digest.
Visitors to the Venafi booth can also get a copy of a limited edition book that reveals the secrets behind Benjamin's show entitled, "The Magic of Systems Management for Encryption, A Pocket Guide to the Systems Behind the Systems Management for Encryption Show". Audience members in his hourly show will also be able to win great prizes.
Pre-Show Challenge: Are You a Novice or Expert Mathematician?
Before the show, attendees who complete a Flash-based arithmetic challenge will receive a certificate they can exchange for a gift they can pick up at the Venafi booth. (The gift is a closely-guarded secret, but Venafi says it is possible to get Art to reveal it in the pre-show Flash if you know where to look.) Be sure to make at least one arithmetic error during the Expert challenge for a little higher entertainment value.
Free "Exhibits-Only" Passes
Venafi is making Expo Only passes available free to attendees ($100 value). Simply register for the conference before April 4, 2008 using the following registration code: EXH8VEN.
